As a unit whose expertise is centered on an enabling technology, CRMS has a unique capability to provide service to the Faculty of Science and the university as a whole. This system (initiated in September 2014) is already enabling a great deal of research that would otherwise be inaccessible to York researchers.

The Proteomics facility at York University has been created with the aim of facilitating research both within the York community as well as in the academic community at large. While the facility provides basic "fee-for-service" type work for the academic community, in keeping with the CRMS mandate the preferred activities are research collaborations that are of interest to and benefit to all parties.
